Tundra is about ready to graduate.  He has learned so much in the year since he first started training to become a therapy dog and has proven to be a very bright, quick learner.  Even having three legs has never stopped him from doing what he wants to do in life.  He is absolutely amazing!

My husband, Brick, and myself (Annie) will be taking him to elementary schools around the community, to work with children who have special needs, as a way of bringing them out of their shells or help them adjust to life despite having disabilities or chronic or serious illness.  Hopefully this will help them see that if a dog with three legs can enjoy life, then, by God, they can, too.

It is an exciting time for our beautiful Alaskan boy (Tundra is an Alaskan Malamute).  We are very thrilled at what the future will hold, not only for him, but for us.  We know that this will probably bring in more income, which is great, since we already have three kids of our own, in addition to having Tundra.

Tundra has learned so much:  how to open doors or get items for people, dealing with annoyances such as wheelchairs, canes, crutches, walkers, or people talking or moving suddenly, people falling or having any other unexpected problems, staying with them if they are injured or sick, alerting others if a person is having any kind of trouble, and the like.  It has been amazing to watch Tundra in action.  Now, he will probably stay with us after he becomes "certified", but that is okay.  We would rather have him stay with us.  He's been an invaluable, cherished family pet.  

We cannot imagine our life without this wonder-pup.  God has certainly blessed us in a big, unexpected way with this courageous canine!

I will probably end up writing a book about our dog.  His story definitely needs to be told.  Who knows what the future  holds?  The world looks bigger and brighter, not only for us, but for Tundra, Alaskan Malamute Extraordinaire!!
