The next hours Brandy tried and did her best to confirm Robert's misunderstanding that she was in love with him.
...They heard a doorbell, followed by a loud knock at her door.
"No way," Robert growled, panting...
...Brandy saw Roger Ahrman strode into the room.
He rudely pushed her off his Master, and helped him up to the sitting position.
"Have you lost your mind?" the valet asked, worried. He massaged the left arm and the shoulder of his Master.
"I'm fine!" Robert snapped at him, grimacing with pain.
"No you're not! Damn, Master! You almost had a heart attack! It had already happened to you in some of your past lives, did it teach you nothing?"
"I couldn't imagine that anything could hurt the Son of the Devil!" Brandy exclaimed, unable to resist herself from saying this.
"What, did you think he was a robot?" Roger spat at her over his shoulder.
"Only in bed." She winked, and the valet rolled his eyes.
He addressed Robert, offering him a flask; "Drink it at once!"
He helped his Master. Brandy saw some red drops of the beverage drip down from Robert's mouth. It looked like tomato juice, and she preferred not to think that it could be something else.
He finished the flask, and hissed in a lungful of air. Then glanced at Brandy, ashamed. "Come on, Roger, stop nursing me!"
"Have you gained your Power back?" the valet asked sternly.
Robert shook his head 'no'.
"I'll use mine," Roger murmured. "Relax, sir."
He placed his right hand on the naked chest of his Master, and stretched down his left arm.
Robert sighed again, now with a relief. "Thank you, Roger, I'm all right, really."
The valet spun towards Brandy, who was sitting on the coffee table, her legs casually crossed.
"Did you try to kill the Master?" he asked in malice air.
"Give me a break!" Brandy threw back. "We only had fun, forgetting everything!" She laughed.
"You betcha!" Robert shook his head. "What time is it?"
"It's almost eight!" cried out Roger.
"My Father!" Robert hastily dressed. "I'm late for the dinner!"
"Yes, and your wife's still waiting for you!" the valet specified.
"Can't you stay with me?" Brandy drawled pitifully, perfectly knowing the answer.
"I can't honey, sorry!" Robert briefly kissed her, then gazed at his companion, and yawned. "Or can I?"
"Oh dear me!" Roger answered, rolling his eyes again. "It depends on what do you want. Are you trying to test limits of your wife's patience? Do you want her to leave you?"
"She never would," Robert retorted haughtily. "She's just crazy about me."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Roger mumbled, following him. But before leaving, he looked back at Brandy.
"Listen to me very carefully, mia cara signorina! I'm much less human than My Master. Your "charm" won't work on me! I feel that you're up to something! If anything had happen to theMaster, your punishment would be so dreadful, that you'll envy the fate of Horst!"
"We all are in it already!" he answered calmly, showing his eerie smile, and chills ran down her spine making her shiver in fear.
