September 20, 2012, Hope, Arkansas~

Good morning!  

Sorry I haven't written in here in a while; been incredibly busy, between school, church, performance gigs, and whatnot.  Hope you understand.

Healthwise, I've been good, other than allergy attacks (have to get shots every month; summer's the worst time for me, as is the fall).  

I have some exciting news: Mama is six months pregnant now and last month, we found out that the baby she is carrying inside of her is a BOY!  So I am gonna have the little brother I wanted!!  I am so happy I could cry!  Mama is planning on naming the baby Kristian Nowell.  He is due around Christmas, so our Christmas this year is gonna be one to remember for the ages!

Mama is getting really big.  She looks like she's carrying twins but she's only carrying one baby.  Looks like Kristian is gonna be a whopper!  Mama's obsetrician thinks that Kristian could weigh over 10 pounds when he is born; he is gonna be a big one!  I know she's miserable, what with the heat and humidity of summer; she's been staying in a lot.  Don't blame her one bit!

My sisters continue to drive me crazy.  Seems that Tori (7) and Blythe (9) can't get along; they're always sniping at each other.  I have been trying to keep a good close eye on them, just to get 'em out of Mama's hair; with her being pregnant and all, Mama doesn't need the extra aggravation!  

I'm in the sixth grade now.  I am not sure if I like it just yet.  I'm not used to having to change classes; before this year we had our classes with just one teacher, in the same room; now we're having to switch rooms and the school I go to is rather big.  I've already gotten lost a few times; talk about embarrassing!

I've performed at several festivals and at local Oprys; it's always a thrill whenever I see the people enjoying what I do.  It just makes me work that much harder in my quest to become a country singer.  I want to be as well loved and respected as my idol, Loretta Lynn.  I just love her so  much!  Dolly Parton is another one I love, but Loretta is my all time favorite!  (She's Mama's all time favorite as well; Daddy likes Dolly.)

Mama said if I do well on my schoolwork this year she may look into getting me to sing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.  I think that would be a dream come true ; I have often heard people say that once someone plays the Grand Ole Opry, then they've truly hit the big time!

Mama is also looking into me cutting an album.  I think that would be cool to have my own album or hit single!  I wrote a song once called "What I'd Give (To Be A Country Girl Again)".  I wrote that when I was six or seven.  I think that would be a good song for people to hear!

I've written several other songs, but "What I'd Give (To Be A Country Girl Again)" is my best one.  That's what people have told me; they really like it a lot whenever I sing it at one of my performances.

Well, it's time to put this up; have to go to my next class, which is English (I'm now in Study Hall).  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Kenni Harlinger saying so long and God bless!
