I absolutely hate this time of year.
I hate this time of year because it seems that black cats are at the mercy of uncaring punks or people who don't like black cats for one reason or another. Too many kitties have been shot at or even killed, and some have even been tortured or abused.
I can't imagine anything so horrible happening to Furball. I love him so much!
Furball is a shorthaired all black kitty with green eyes. His whiskers are also black; they match his soft, silken fur perfectly. He is such a beautiful cat; I can't imagine my life without Furball in it!
I have had Furball since 2008. four years now. I got him as a teeny tiny kitten at the local animal rescue league; turns out he is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I got him after I lost my son to cancer; he was only ten years old and I still miss him with every fibre of my being. He died last year; he would have been 11 on Halloween night. His name was Kaden Chance.
Kaden had leukemia: cancer of the blood. He had Down syndrome and had already been through so much when the cancer struck; he fought long and hard, but it wasn't meant to be. God called him home on Thanksgiving night last year. So the holidays mean very little to me anymore.
Furball has taken away some of the sadness; he knows I miss my boy, so he sits right at my side every waking minute (if he isn't playing or eating, that is) and tries to soothe my saddened spirit with his loud, house-vibrating purrs. He is wonderful; my life is much better with Furball in it!
