As part of our grade for Social Studies, Ms. Dimwitt is having our class take part in a project that is to make up a good part of our grade in her class.  She wants us to spend the night among the city's homeless then write what we see and experience.

I don't know about this .... I am used to the comforts of home: my nice, warm, fluffy bed.  A roof overhead.  Food in my stomach.  Clean clothes to wear.  My computer.  My Ipod.  My video games.  My phone.  When we do this later tonight, I can't bring anything from home, just myself (and be sure to dress warmly is what she told us prior to our getting on the bus to come home from school today).

My parents seem to think it is a good idea (well, Dad does, anyway; Mom isn't too sure; Mom has always been something of a worrywart).  I am inclined to agree with Mom.  I mean, what if something were to happen?  What if I got shot, mugged, or (gasp!) raped??  What would I do then??

The very thought of sleeping on a street corner with homeless bums makes me nauseated.  I don't know if I am cut out to do this .... yet if I want to have a good grade in Social Studies, then I have no choice but to take part in this class project ....
