Goodgobbledygoo!!!!

I can't believe what I just heard.  Old Man Tatum (who has been our history teacher ever since the time of the dinosaurs, it seems) finally kicked the bucket.  Yep.  The old dorg died the other day.  A massive heart attack.  He was in his eighties.

Guess that means we won't see his face around the school grounds any longer .... hmm.  I wonder if we will have to pay our last respects and see his body at the funeral home.  I hope not; funerals, in general, creep me out.  I'd rather go to the dentist and have him pull out all my teeth rather than to see a dead body at a funeral home any day!

In addition to that, I also heard "through the playground grapevine" that Gennie Wiggins' folks are getting a divorce.  They'd been separated for a while; now they finally decide that they can't live together any more.  I wonder what's gonna happen to Gennie.  Her mother lives here in Trenton; meanwhile, her daddy lives way down in south Texas, 'round Galveston.  I wonder if she will continue to live here or will have to eventually move to Galveston if she decides to live with her daddy.

Thirdly, I heard that we may have to go to school all the way up to the 22nd of December on account of the stupid hurricane we had recently.  Nasty Hurricane Sandy really put a wrecking ball on our town (we live here in Trenton, New Jersey; there are people still without power or a place to stay, and it will take months, perhaps, years, to clean up all the junk that Sandy left behind in her wake.  I hope not; I don't want to have to go to school all that time until just before Christmas, then turn around and come back not even a week or so later!

That would just suck!

That will mean that we will have to go to school on Thanksgiving Day.  That is so not cool!  While other school systems will be shut down for the holiday, we here in Trenton will be poring over textbooks and listening to our teachers drone on about pointless stuff!  UGH!  Just the thought of it all is already making me sick to my stomach!!

Well, it's time for lunch, so I'll go.  I will write in here again soon; pray we don't have to go to school on Turkey Day!! I want to sleep in and watch the parades, not learn about the Pilgrims or taking notes on Thanksgiving!!!!
