My name is Millie Overton.  I live in Racine, Wisconsin, with my husband, Bud, and our three children: Callum Daniel (15), Joci Fiona (11), and Brady Scott (4).  My husband is a plumber; meanwhile, I am a mamma and a homeschool teacher.

My youngest (Brady) was diagnosed with Cri du chat syndrome when he was six months old.  Basically, that means he is delayed mentally and has accompanying physical features.  He is smaller than average and cannot walk, but has recently learned to say a few words, which has been nothing short of miraculous.

It's been hard having a child with special needs, but Brady is a blessing; we cannot imagine our lives without him.  He goes to physical, speech, and occupational therapy three to four times a week and is doing fairly well; we remain hopeful that one day he will walk.  Until then, he uses a wheelchair.

Joci and Collum have been very good to their little brother; they  have learned tolerance, acceptance of those who are disabled, and would fight to the death to protect him.  I am very proud of my two older children; it's been hard on them at times, especially when Brady gets sick or ends up in the hospital (he is susceptible to pneumonia and uses oxygen at night; his lungs are weak).

We plan on taking Brady to see Santa Claus on Saturday at the mall; he's been a very good little boy.  We will also finish our shopping and start decorating our place for Christmas.  Then on Sunday we will have our church Cantata (Joci, Collum, and I are all in it).  It will be a very busy weekend.
