Minnie Pearl Owens is in the hospital, and she is not too thrilled about it.

I figured that with the colder weather settling in, my health would improve, but to no avail.  To my utter disappointment, it wasn't meant to be.  Here it is, nearly Christmas time, and I'm stuck in the hospital again, this time with pneumonia!

Arrrggghhh!!!!

Doesn't help that I'm about as strong a a bag of wet mice.  I'm so skinny and fragile looking it isn't a bit funny!  My health has always been poor.

I came to the hospital two days ago after having difficulty in breathing; they admitted me and after having x-rays and other tests, they told me I had pneumonia.  I've been here since; I have been poked, prodded, and stabbed so often it's a wonder I don't leak! LOL

There is one good thing about being here, though: the nurses and doctors, they take right good care of me, I get three hot meals a day, I have a nice bed to sleep in, and the room is kept nice and warm.  I like all this attention I've been getting (but not the damn needles, pokes, and stuff!).

Don't know how long I'll be here, but as long as I'm out by Christmas .... that's all I care about.

Since I now have my own place and am off the streets, I have reason to enjoy Christmas this year.  I don't have to worry so much about the elements, drug (or gang) activity, finding something to eat (or drink), or having people chase me 'cause they don't want "my kind" stinkin' up the joint.

I have a bed, a dresser, a small color tv, a computer (that a friend of mine from church got for me on sale), and clean clothes that aren't full of holes or falling apart soon as I pick 'em up.  I have neighbors who know (and understand) what it's like to have been homeless, and rides to church, doctor's appointments, or to the local mall.

I get a small disability pension so I am at least able to get groceries and pay my bills. Am not left with much after the bills are paid, but I am, at least, grateful!

Just pray that I'm out of the hospital by Christmas.  I would really appreciate them! Thanks!

~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Minnie Pearl. :(

Earth-centric Humanity at the Crossroads by Martin Treon

For the reasons I describe in this book, the world-wide suffering, death and extinction of humanity is very likely to occur, unless nonviolent and democratically determined radical and revolutionary personal and societal actions and changes are taken
