My daughter, Suhani Nichole, is a miracle. All children are miracles, but Suhani especially is one. She has been through so much in her seven years upon this earth.
We adopted Suhani from India when she was a baby, just over six years ago. She was unwanted, unloved, and deemed "unadoptable" by the orphanage she resided at because she had been born with spina bifida that left her paralyzed from the waist on down.
She has had over 30 surgeries and numerous hospital stays and faces more in the future. She took her first steps two years ago at the age of five; she was walking with a walker but now ambulates with crutches and leg braces. Suhani is one never to give up trying.
Suhani is like any other child; she just happens to have a physcial disability. She dreams, she laughs, she cries, she sings, she loves others and knows how to give it. Suhani has always had a very compassionate heart; she does not know a stranger.
Suhani accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was five, two years ago; she loves telling others about Him wherever she goes. She loves going to church every Sunday and singing in the children's choir. In fact, on Sunday, she willl be performing during the church's children's Christmas program; she is slated to sing her very first solo. Suhani is going to sing "O Holy Night"; I am sure she will do a great job. I have heard her practicing and she has such a beautiful singing voice!
When she grows up, Suhani wants to be a singer or a teacher or a mommy. She also wants to be a veterinarian and take care of animals; she loves animals especially cats. She does have a cat of her own, a Maine Coon kitten she has named "Mittens".
Well, I hate to run, but I have to get supper on the table then have Suhani take her bath before she goes to bed. She has rehearsal tomorrow morning; then we are going to get our Christmas tree and spend the evening decorating it. Then on Sunday is her program at church. It is going to be a fun but very busy weekend. Until later, take care and God bless!
