Wow!! I can't believe it! On Christmas I found out that I am going to be a father!! My wife is two months pregnant!!! Only God could do something like this! That means that Mom and Daddy are going to have another grandchild by September of next year!!
I also turned 20 years old yesterday. We had a nice day. Mom and Daddy took me, Rebekka, and our caretaker out to lunch at Olive Garden, where I loaded up on the garlic breadsticks (I LOVE those things!) and had lasagna and a salad. As always, the food at Olive Garden was very, very good.
Hard to believe that I have outlived the doctors' predictions by a good 15 years. They didn't think I'd make it to five. Well, God (and I) have had the last laugh on them! And now I find out that I am to be a daddy! I, Johnathon Irwin-Allen Sandusky, am going to be a father!!
I just hope that I can be a worthy parent to our child. It's hard to even imagine; I have enough trouble with my own health as it is, but God has been good to me, even in light of all that's happened to me over the years. I also have a very determined spirit and don't give up that easily. Maybe that's why I am doing so well because I've chosen to trust in God in all things, good OR bad.
In addition to that, there's a fifty-fifty chance that our child can develop MD since I have it. Or he (or she) can have pain insensitivity disorder. Either way, we are willing to take that chance, and even if our child was born disabled, we will try our best to be the parents our child rightfully deserves. It won't be easy, but God will help us through anything that may come our way!
I realize that Jackie, our caregiver, is going to have her work load increased because Rebekka will probably spend a good deal of her pregnancy in bed. It's extremely risky for her, so the doctor has ordered her to bed for the majority of her pregnancy. I just pray with all my heart that she can carry this baby to term; if she can it will be one of the greatest miracles known to man (and to us!).
On Christmas Eve, we went to church at Christ Community Assembly of God. They had special Christmas music; it was wonderful. Afterwards, we had Christmas, since Mom had to work later that night (and into Christmas Day). I got a lot of nice things: clothes that actually fit, shoes, underwear and socks, gift cards to Wal*Mart, CVS, Mardel's, 1/2 Price Books, Bath and Body Works, new software for my PC, some new Kindle books for my Kindle Fire, and much more.
On Christmas Day, my sister, Ronee', turned 20. (She's older than me! I kiddingly call her "the old lady". LOL) She still made out like a bandit, though. LOL
Michael got Ronee' a new kitten for "Cajun", her 12 year old senior (but yet still very active) Maine Coon cat. He got her a Ragdoll kitten aged 12 weeks old; it's the cutest little thing, but I don't think "Cajun" likes her very much because the two of them spent a lot of time hissing at one another. "Jambalaya" (the kitten) wants to make friends with "Cajun"; "Cajun", on the other hand, wants nothing to do with the new competition. LOL
It's really interesting. If "Jambalaya" or "Cajun" aren't hissing at one another, then they're chasing each other 'round the house, with the dogs in hot persuit, who think it is a game. LOL
We went to the Golden Corral for lunch after opening our gifts (and trying to extracate "Jambalaya" from the tree). I pigged out; I had a little of this, a little of that .... by the time I was done, I could barely move. I must of had eight plates full of food! LOL (Well?? I was hungry; I could NOT help myself!)
After we got back, I let my belly flop around while we watched football or enjoyed the loot that we'd gotten. I just felt bad that Mom couldn't have joined us, as she was working. She didn't get home until 8 that night. (She got off at 7.)
The weather was snowy and cold: perfect. We had ourselves a white Christmas. I took lots of pictures, as did Ronee'; she will probably end up posting hers on her Facebook page. So will I. That's another thing I got: a brand new camera, a Fuji Film Fine Pix S2950. That was one of my big gifts (as was the software for my computer). I am still trying to figure it out.
Well, Rebekka's calling me, so I will go. I will write in here again soon; just pray that Rebekka can carry the baby to term and pray that she has a smooth, unventful pregnancy without too many complications! (Rebekka and I both will appreciate any ... and all ... your prayers!!) Thanks in advance!
Take care and God bless!
