Well, this didn't turn out quite like what I had expected ...
I knew I was pregnant; however, when I went for my ultrasound the other day, I was dumbfounded to discover that I was carrying not one, but two babies! Twins!!
While it is still too early to determine the sex of the baby (okay, babies!), the fact that I was carrying twins sent me reeling.
Hubby, of course, was estatic. I mean, I was happy too, in a small, roundabout way, but come on! Really?? TWINS????
That was exactly what I said when the technician finished her ultrasound and told me the news, then showed me the image from the test. There were definitely two babies in there, clear as day. "What do you mean, two babies?!" She said, smiling broadly, that I was carrying twins.
Wow! What a late Christmas present! In just seven months, I would be the mommy to twin babies!! That meant I would have to get two of everything. Clothes sets. Playpens. Double the amount of diapers. Lots and lots of toys and baby food.
It kind of startled me because I, for one, happen to be a twin. So it looks like the tradition will continue in the Hanson family! There are also twins on Harold's side of the family: his sister, Meghan, has twin boys, aged 10 months.
I don't know if I'm ready for twins just yet .... *Sigh!* ....
