I am so excited! We are in Galveston (Texas), we meaning myself and some friends from school. Galveston is only an hour's drive south of here (we live on the outskirts of Houston). I have been wanting to go back to Galveston ever since summer break first started back in June.
Galveston is one of my very favorite haunts: there is so much to do and see. Between the attractions and the beach, one is never bored there. I know I have a blast whenever I go, especially now that the Pleasure Pier Amusement Park has opened! It's been a long time coming and many people have been looking forward to it!
I have been to Galveston numerous times and it never gets old. I truly do enjoy it; some of my very favorite places include not only the beach itself, but the Rainforest Cafe', Pleasure Pier, Moody Gardens, the Strand, and the Great Storm, which is about the Hurricane of 1900, which killed over 6,000 Galvestonians. (NOT that I enjoy hurricanes, which I don't, but the flim itself is very interesting.)
Whenever we go to Galveston, we stay at my Aunt Sonia's house; she lives across from the beach on the main drag; she takes us to the different places and we spend the entire weekend just shopping, lazing around on the beach, going out to eat, and enjoying each other's company. My Aunt Sonia's really cool; I just love her!!
I wish I could move to Galveston; I would be very happy living there!! It would be a dream come true if we could move away from the crime of Houston; Houston is too big, too noisy, and way too crowded! I'm more of a beach and sun type gal myself; I never was cut out for big-city life!!
