My name is Laredo Wilson. I am 10 years old. I live in Waxahatchie, Texas (pronounced like Wok a hatch ee); I have lived here all my life. Was born there and still call Waxahatchie my home.
I have a mom and dad (I call 'em Mama and Daddy), as well as two younger brothers: Maverick Dillon and Blade Patrick, who are seven and three. I get along with 'em most of the time, but sometimes they do drive me crazy!
I am in the fourth grade at Lone Star Academy; it's a private Christian school. I love it there; I used to go to public school but kept getting bullied, so Mama and Daddy pulled me out of there and put me in private school. I like it a lot better.
I also can talk about God without worrying about getting into trouble or "offending" other people.
On Sundays, I go to church. I love Sunday school and afterwards, I go to the children's service, which is held in the gymnasium. Pastor Ken is a lot of fun and you can tell he loves his job of teaching kids about the Lord. In fact, last year, I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and now I am a Christian, which made my mama and daddy very happy.
When I gtow up I want to be a preacher like Pastor Ken. Or maybe I want to be a real cowboy, just like my uncle Scotty, who lives in Fort Worth. He has a ranch and everything.
Well, I gotta go; it's about time to get our grub faces on. We're having empanadas tonight; I love Mexican food!! I will write in here another day; until then, this is Laredo Wilson saying so long and God bless!
This book was written for children to stress the importance of being able to choose who gets to hug or touch them and being able to say NO if they don't want to be hugged or touched.
