Last night, I was in bed, when I saw something lurking outside my bedroom window. Thought at first it was a peeping tom, but then I saw that it was something else. As quickly as it appeared, it disappeared when it caught me looking outside.
I laid back down, figured that it was just my imagination playing tricks on me again (or maybe it was my medication talking), but then I saw IT again. I was not imagining things.
What I saw truly horrified and sickened me. It was a face, but unlike any face I had ever seeen. Gray in color, with huge dark eyes that covered most of its face, holes for nostrils, and a teeny tiny mouth. It looked more like an insect than a human being. Whatever it was truly frightened me.
I wish my husband, Albert, was here, but no: he was on a hunting excursion with some male friends; he wouldn't be back until later tonight. I was home by myself; our children had moved out and gone on with their own lives. I felt exposed and vulnerable.
