My favorite teacher is none other than Mr. Roth. He teaches Science at my middle school that I attend.
Mr. Roth obviously cares very much for all of his students: he has made time for those who are struggling, and whenever a student does well he doesn't hesitate for one second to tell them how proud he is.
I have never had a teacher as caring or compassionate like Mr. Roth. If more people (teachers) could be like him, schools (no, the entire world) would be a whole lot better off!
Well, over Christmas, we found out that Mr. Roth's teenage daughter, Hailey, was in a car wreck. She is still in the hospital, fighting for her life. Currently she is in a coma; there's no guarantees whether she will ever wake up or recover fully.
While Mr. Roth has been here, teaching, his wife, meanwhile, has been at the hospital, keeping vigil over Hailey. He does see her on weekends; on Mondays he has been giving up updates about her. What he's told us hasn't really sounded all that encouraging because there's not been any change in her condition.
We have since decided to hold a fundraiser (a dance) to help the Roths with the medical bills that will soon start piling in. I figure if he can be there for us, then we can be there for Mr, Roth, especially during his great time of need. It's only right!
We don't know what the future will hold for Hailey (or for Mr. and Mrs. Roth, for that matter), but one thing is for certain: we will do all we can to help in any way possible!
