A man sees God working in his life and in the lives of his family and friends. This is his story.
I never knew just how much God loved me until I started reading the Bible and started going back to church. It seems that he was pleased with my decision because ever since, supernatural things have been happening in my life and in the lives of those who I love and care about the most.
For example, my new job. I am working for a law firm; it was basically a "hire-on-the-spot" kind of deal. I've been there now for about six months and already I have had a few raises. I don't have to bust my butt so much in order to get the bills paid.
And my family. My wife, Charla, and I have applied to adopt a child from China and so far things have been going relatively smoothly. We are planning on adopting a little boy with albinism. He may be Oriental, but he has snow white hair, blue eyes, and fair, fair skin. His name is Wu Lee, and he is three years old. He is absolutely beautiful.
Our adoption caseworker has been calling us on a regular basis and keeping us informed as to how things are going; we couldn't be more pleased. If all works out according to plan, then little Wu Lee should be here in our own home within a few months at the most.
We have already done the home studies, the bulk of the required paperwork, had our medical and background checks, and have started getting the room ready for our soon-to-be little boy; we are just about ready. Now all we do is wait ... and pray that all continues TO go well.
Several friends of mine whom I lost contact with over the years have gotten back in touch with me again (thanks to Facebook) and we've already had a few get togethers, e-mail sessions, and phone calls. I thought I would never see any of my school chums again and now we have reconnected.
Our daughter, Hannaleigh, is excited about the prospect of a new little brother. Every day she asks if he is coming. She is so impatient; she cannot wait to meet Wu Lee (we are planning to call him Daniel Lee once he is in our midst). Hannaleigh is six and a half; she'll be seven in March.
And to top it all off, my sister, Chris, was healed of cancer. She had been battling ovarian cancer for over two years and our church has been praying for her practically nonstop. Well, she went to the doctor's last week and lo and behold, there is NO evidence of any cancer; her last scan came up clear! We know it was a God thing; there is no other explanation!
To celebrate, we are taking Chris and her family out to eat at Red Lobster on Saturday night and we are going to get together and praise God for His goodness upon me and the lives of my family and friends! God is so good; it is awesome what He's been doing in my life!!
A very happy and nicely told story, Karen. With God anything is possible. Check out my latest writing, THE MRACLE. I think you're stories have inspired me to tell mine. Have a great night and God bless.
