My name is Kisha D'Elaine Johnson. I am 15 years old and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, fake about me. I'm about as real as real can get!
I am currently in a foster home; have been in and out of foster care for ten years (since I was five). My real mama took drugs and decided she didn't want me any more, so she put me up for adoption. It 'bout broke my heart, but I am hopeful that one day (soon, I pray) that I get a forever family that I can call my very own.
The family I am currently with is the Johnsons. They live in Dalhart, Texas. They are quite nice; there's the parents (Jon and Cleo) and their five kids: Ashburn (17), Wendy Grace (19), Rebeccah Jolene (10), Christian Michael (6), and the baby, Karah Lynn, who is 2.
The three youngest are adopted; the two girls are from China and the boy, from Illinois. The three youngest also have special needs. They are wonderful kids; I just love all of them so much!
Sometimes we fight, but more often than not, we get along great. I also try to show patience with Christian, Karah, and Rebeccah, but sometimes it can be downright hard.
When I grow up, I want to be a singer or an actress, or perhaps travel the world and be a writer of Christian books for teenagers. I have a lot of dreams.
I am praying with all my heart that I become a member of the Johnson family. They have seemed more like a family to me than the others I have been with; they treat me with respect, dignity, and most of all love and let me know just how much I am needed and matter to them. I truly do appreciate that, more than they will ever know!
Well, I hate to run, but I gotta change classes; I'm at school as I write this, and I don't want to be late to my next class.
