I am continuing to adjust to my new home here on Mars. While it is similar to Earth in a lot of ways, there are quite a few differences, among them being the weather conditions, the length of the year (over 1 year long here, whereas Earth's year was only 365 days a year [366 if it was a "Leap Year"]), and the fact that there are two moons instead of just one, not to mention, having to eat food like the astronauts did at every meal.
Also having to take precautions to boil (and then filter) our water or drinking systems, and suiting up whenever we go outside because the air is just too bad and it could kill us.
It has been a huge adjustment on all our parts ever since the first humans started inhabiting mars over five years ago.
I have made some friends here, both "regular" humans and Martian kids. Some of my friends include Blake Witherstaff, Trzzega Rdtyeyova, Rod Sears, and Wwwyugga Pfft35fact. (Trzz and Wwwyu are Martians, in case if the names haven't already tipped you off.)
We like to hang out at each other's cribs, where we play games, watch Martian-based movies (or old dinosaurs like "Star Wars", "Star Trek", and "Alien"), write stories and draw, play Martian style basketball or baseball if the weather isn't too windy or dusty outside (that is a rarity!), and annoy my younger sisters.
Even though I may live on Mars with my family now, I still have quite a happy life, now that all the calamity on what is left of Earth has subsided. Now that people are starting to inhabit Mars, it's kinda nice to know that me and my family aren't the only humans around. It's nice to be with "my kind".
Well, I hate to go, but I'm at school as I write this, and it's time to go to lunch. Oh, yummy. Let's see what the goons at the cafeteria can dish out today. Perhaps dried fishsticks, fries, and carrot cake for dessert? Yummy, sounds really tasty (NOT, unless you like the taste of cardboard; that's what our food tastes like unless you add liquid to it).
