Hard to believe that a lawbreaker like Pistol Pete (Pedro Gonzalez) can nearly bring a guy like Dead-Eye nearly to his grave; yet Dead-Eye is a lot tougher than what people realize.  If there is anyone who can get back up when the chips are down, it's none other than Dead-Eye.

Doc Tilghman has been keeping us abreast of what's going down with Dead-Eye.  He's survived being shot, but he faces a very long road of recovery ahead of him.  That he even survived being shot like he was has been nothing short of a God-given miracle.

Pistol Pete has been on the lam for well over six months now.  Many infractions are against him; it's a wonder he hasn't been caught by now.  Guess that just goes to show y'all just how dol'gone sneaky the guy is.  If I had been appointed lawman of this town, guys like Pistol Pete Gonzalez would have been buried UNDERNEATH the jail by now, or buried off on a hill somewheres well outta town.

Dead-Eye is, as of right now, paralyzed.  That means he ain't able to feel anythin' below his waist, nor can he move his legs.  He took a bullet to the back.  He may have to use a wheelchair, but what good would that do?  A guy in a wheelchair can't bring a snake like Pistol Pete Gonzalez down!

We have been praying long and hard for Dead-Eye; he's the best thing that's ever happened to our town, and if he were to end up crippled for life, then we might as well hand our town (and the keys) over to the bad guys, 'cause they really dealt us a heavy-handed blow!
