Hello!  This is your friend, Heaven Grace Fowler, writing; hope this finds you all in the bset of health!

I am doing well; no real complaints, other than the fact that I can no longer walk, but even despite that, God has been with me since the day of the shooting in Haiti, and He continues to be with me even now.  I don't know what I would do without Him!  He is my refuge, my rock, my EVERYTHING!

At times, it isn't easy, but as long as I trust in Him and continue to praise Him, even during my storms, then I will make it!  I know I will make it!!  He's that kind of God!

I could have turned bitter and angry over what happened, but God is using my disability for His purposes, His glory.  I find I have a testimony and share the love of Christ with others; that is what He would want me to do, so I am doing what He requires of me in the best way I know how.

I had been on a missions trip to Haiti, helping out at a school, when a gunman burst in and started shooting.  I was one of those hit; I was shot in the back.  I did save some of the kids' lives by throwing myself over them; I then felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my lower back, and then nothing.  I knew I had been shot; it was one of the most terrifying feelings I had ever experienced.  I knew something was wrong when I couldn't feel anything below my waist and saw that I could not move my legs; that was when I mercifully passed out.  Or had I died??

Obviously, I did not die; I wouldn't be here sharing my story with you.  I am so glad that God has given me another chance!

Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday (Easter); I went to church with my family.  It was a most wonderful service and twenty people gave their hearts to the Lord.  It was a powerfully moving service; I know God was in the house!  After church, we went out to eat; we went to Golden Corral and had a wonderful meal.  We then went to the park and enjoyed the day; it was a perfectly sunny day with temperatues in the lower 70's with pristine blue skies.  You could have not asked for a more perfect Easter/Resurrection Sunday!

Today I am at home, enjoying my family and looking forward to returning to school tomorrow.  I have missed my friends; it will be good to see everybody once again!
