Dear Journal~
So much has happened, I hardly know where to begin!
I am very happy to announce that our daughter, Camille, who had been so sick and in the hospital, is now back home where she belongs! She was released from the hospital on Friday of last week; she is still pretty weak, but that's to be expected. She had MRSA and septicemia; it was a thousand miracles that she didn't die or suffer from multiple organ failure!
Camille has been spoiled rotten. And she loves it. I just hope that I can control her whenever she gets into one of her stubborn moods or misbehaves! LOL Still, I really don't mind; I'm just thrilled that she has recovered! It could have very easily been a lot worse than it was; we could have lost her!
And our daughter, Ronee': she is pregnant with twins! She is going to have twin boys! She had her ultrasound at her obstetrician's last week, and Michael, her husband, called to break the news. I couldn't believe it! So I am going to be the grandmother to two more grandbabies, both boys! I will have to get some newborn baby boy clothes and more toys, diapers, and baby supplies! Whee!!
Johnny's wife, Rebekka, is pregnant with a boy as well. So far she is donig well in her pregnancy; I am praying this continues. Johnny is going around, his chest puffed out like a proud peacock; he is really looking forward to assuming his role as a first-time daddy! So that means that by October/November of this year, three more grandsons will be joining the Sandusky Army!
What a wonderful, unforgettable Christmas this is going to turn out to be for our family! God has been incredibly good to us; I just pray the blessings and good news continue!
The weather here in Nashville is warm: temperatures in the upper seventies to lower/middle eighties, and partly cloudy; but tonight/tomorrow morning we could have some severe storms roll through here as a powerfully strong cold front barrels through the Middle Tennessee Valley; we could even have ice or snow by tomorrow afternoon/evening if all holds together. From spring to winter in one fell swoop: guess that means I'd best cover the plants and tender vegetation!
Bill is working hard at his job at Wal*Mart; he still enjoys it. He continues to work in the security, in the office. He does miss being a people greeter at the store, but he still enjoys what he does. He's been at Wal*Mart for five, nearly six years now and has gotten several raises. He has proved to be a very good, reliable, prompt worker. I am still working at my job at Nashville Memorial; I have been working in the Emergency department or in the MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit). I have been there for about ten years now and love what I do. We are both very happy, both in our employment and in our personal lives; church and family continue to be the center of our world, as do our careers.
Later this month, Ronee' will be graduating from Lousiana State University-Lafayette with a major in Music/Voice and a minor in Journalism, and in May, we will be going back to Louisiana for the annual Crawfish Festival if nobody gets sick unexpectedly and if Camille continues her current course in her recovery.
In later May, Johnny will be transferring to Oklahoma State University in Norman, Oklahoma; he continues his quest to become a meterologist/storm chaser, even in light of having Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It hasn't stopped him thus far; I am praying he continues to do well, both healthwise and academically. Whoever thought that this young man once struggled mightily in school? Ever since he got the extra tutoring and help, he has blossomed and is scoring very good grades, with a B average!
It's been nothing but a God-given miracle on both parts!
Our other children are growing like weeds:quite a few of them have shot up on the growth chart and will probably surpass me by the time some of them become preteens. As an example, Ian and Isaiah, our youngest set of twins, are both five, but they are the size of seven- to- eight- year-olds; they tower over most of their classmates. They easily got their father's height; by the time they become adults, they will probably be pushing seven foot or even taller than that! (Bill, my husband, is 6'9 1/2" tall. I am only 4'7".)
I continue to work with the adoption community and updating my blog frequently, which is where you will find my journals and medical updates regarding Camille or other members of my family. I also continue to write steadily whenever I can find the extra time (mostly when the kids are at school if I am off work or on break at work or if one of my kids are hospitalized, such as this recent hospital stay Camille had).
I may be writing a sequel to my one book about our family, "A Family Made Out Of Miracles And Rainbows", as well as more nursing stories from my viewponit and maybe a children's book about living with children who have special needs. I have a lot of ideas. God has kept my mind fertile.
Anh's wife, Thu, is pregnant with her second child; so Bella Thu Grace, their firstborn, will have a little brother or sister later this year. Seems that a new generation of Sanduskys will be added in earnest!
Well, I have to get supper ready; am off today and went to the grocery store; got back an hour ago. *Sigh* Seems my work is never done! Yet I don't mind; I love to stay busy; it's all I know. The busier and more chaotic my life is, the better I seem to function! LOL I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Louisiana Sandusky saying so long; may God bless you all as much as He's been blessing me and my family!
