I wish it were not true , but Herbie Jones and his mother Anita (not her real name; the last name is not real either) are back in the picture again.  Herbie is back in the hospital, this time with a perforated appendix.  He is very sick; it is questionable at this time whether he will even survive.

Like the last times Herbie was brought in, Anita showed very little concern or expression as she brought her son, who was writhing in pain, into the ER.  She just expected us to take care of him.  It was very chilling to witness.

Herbie had surgery last night; he was taken to the OR directly from the ER.  He is now in critical condition; his vital signs remain fairly stable at best.  So far he really hasn't had any complications, but I'm not surprised if any do happen to pop up unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, Anita sits in the PICU waiting area, chewing gum and reading trashy romance novels; not once has she even bothered to visit her son.  I wonder if she even truly loves him or cares for him .... I am thinking that this may be a clear case of child abuse going on here .... I will have to keep a close eye on Anita and be at the ready to call for backup in case she tries something else to harm her son.

Seeing people like Anita and her son Herbie only makes me want to hug and hold my own children tighter.  It is sad that she doesn't even care; if that is the case, then why did she even bother having a child in the first place?? If Herbie survives, I will honestly be surprised; if not, then we may have to get the police involved before it is too late ....
