Young Native American Molly Sky from Pueblo, Colorado, updates us on what has been going on in her part of the world.

 Greetings from Pueblo, Colorado!

This is your friend, Molly Rain Sky, writing.  I am sorry I haven't written in a few months; have been very busy with school, helping Mommy and Daddy and the family, and whatnot.  I hope you understand.

I am feeling sad today.  Today would have been Grandfather's birthday.  He died last year; I still miss him very much.  Daddy found him in his bed one morning, cold, grey, and lifeless.  He knew he was dead; when he told us the news, we all cried (well, all but Jackson, that is; he's only a toddler).  I then got mad at him and smacked him; Mommy, in turn, smacked me for smacking my brother.  I got into major trouble for that one.

We have since gotten another member in our family.  Mommy had a baby back in January; baby Mayson is now three months old and is spoiled rotten.  Seems the family can't get enough of him; meanwhile, I feel like chopped liver 'cause it seems nobody pays attention to me unless I get into mischief and end up getting into trouble.  It's not fair!

The weather outside is cold but sunshiney.  I could go skiing, but don't feel like it.  Being lazy I guess.  I didn't even make it to church this morning 'cause I overslept; missed the alarm, and when I woke up the family was gone.  I knew they'd gone to church; Mommy left me a note right on my pillow.  I was really mad; I hate missing church!  Still a bit mad; bet the family went out to eat 'cause they're not back yet.  They usually do that after church.

So I am laying here on my bed, feeling a bit sorry for myself.  Still, it is nice not having pesty little brothers or bossy older sisters or annoying little sisters to bother me.  I might as well enjoy myself and enjoy the peace and quiet ...

I also have to get cracking on my science homework.  Ms. Antelope, my teacher, wants us to write a report about one of the planets in the solar system; I picked Saturn.  I just haven't felt like doing it; but I know I have to 'cause it's due tomorrow.  If I don't do it, I'll get a nice, fat, red zero, and I will probably get into trouble with my parents.  Seems I can't get out of doing it ... *Sighhh!*

Well, I'd best start on that stupid report, so I will go after I make myself some cold cereal.  Or maybe I will have a hot dog or something simple for lunch.  May make doing my report that much easier ... will write again soon; sorry it's been a while!  Take care and may God bless you!

~Love, your Colorado friend, Molly Rain.  :)
