Howdy!  How are y'all doing?

My name is Dexter Ryan Broussard.  I live in Houma, Louisiana, with my family.  I am ten years old and am in the fifth grade.  My best friend is Hector Corrido.

I am Cajun French.  My ancestors are the Acadians, who came to Louisiana after they were kicked out of Canada (near what is now Nova Scotia) by the British.  The British didn't like 'em 'cause they were Catholic (the British were not; they were Protestants).  I learned all about our heritage at school, and I was pretty mad when I found out about how they were treated!

I have my parents and three brothers (one older, two younger).  My brothers' names are Delton Ronald, Douglas Jamison, and Donatello Paul; they are four, seven, and 13.  I am the second oldest kid in my family.

I like to do many things; among my interests (or hobbies) include painting, drawing, writing stories or poems, playing the Cajun accordion, fiddle, or guitar, reading (I like "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series of books the best), annoying my brothers, hanging out with my friends at (or after) school or on the weekends, and fishing.  I have a very happy life.

My teacher is Mme. Cartier.  She's okay, but she can be as mean as a snake sometimes, especially when some of the kids try to jerk a knot in her tail.  She doesn't stand for any monkeyshines!  (I'm just glad I'm not on the short end of her stick!)

Well, I'm supposed to be doing my weekend chores, but my stupid baby brother keeps annoying me.  I will try to write in here again soon; until then, this is Dexter Broussard saying I'm outta here! Bye for now!
