Bark! Bark! Bark!

Oh, excuse ME.  Forgot you don't speak Dog.  Have to keep remembering that ....

My name is Stinky.  I'm a Basset hound.  I am very cute if I do say so myself, but most people say I stink to high heaven.  I can't help it; it's part of my makeup.  I have what is known as a very strong, if definite, "doggie smell".

So my humans, they named me Stinky.  Nice, attractive name, huh??  It's not gonna win me any doggie girlfriends, 'less they happen to smell themselves ....  I wouldn't have minded being named Spike or Sparticus or something more .... manly (or should that be canine-ly??)!

I live in Palo Alto, California, with my humans.  I take care of them, but they say they take care of me instead.  Nope.  It's the other way around.  I warn them if there's any sign of danger or trouble afoot and would die for them, I love them so.  They do feed and water me and take me on walks, but I make sure they are safe and happy.  I love to play with the smaller humans and go on walks or to the doggie park, whcih is always a treat.  I love visiting my doggie friends there!  My best friends are Bullet (a Rhodesian Ridgeback), Barkey (a tiny orange and black Pomeranian who weighs maybe five pounds soaking wet; he's all fur and has a very big mouth for his size!), and Uber (a German Shepherd).

I see Uber and Bullet just about every day (they live in my 'hood), but I only see Barkey when I go to the doggie park.  He lives on the other side of town, so I don't see him like I do the other two dogs.  Still, Barkey is fun; he is such a happy little guy and doesn't miss anything!  He is incredibly cute and smart!

I do get baths every week, but I still end up stinking to high heaven after only a few hours to a day or so.  It's not like my humans don't.  As I said earlier, I have a strong odor, but hey ... it doesn't bother me; I'm used to it by now ....

Well, I hope you liked my "tail".  I enjoyed telling you about myself.  I am truly Top Dog; I'm the best dog on the block! :) (Don't tell my doggie pals I said that; they might then go out for blood .... MY blood!!)
