Today we found out that we were going to be parents.  On on today of all days!

Today is Valentine's Day.  A day for love and cherishing those who mean the most to you.  In my case, it's my wife, Holly, and our son, Quenton, who is four years old.  

Well, today we found out that our adoption has been approved!!  That means we will be adding to the family: we are in the process of adopting a five-year-old girl from Ethiopia!  Her name is Kirimu, but we are thinking of calling her Helena (unless we decide to keep her name as it is, but right now, Helena is on our minds!).  She should be here within the next four to six months, according to our adoption caseworker!

That means that Kirimu will be here by August if all goes according to plan.

Holly and I will be telling Quenton that he will have a brand new sister when we go out to dinner tonight.  Don't know how he will take it, but I am praying that he will be happy about the news.  Poor little guy has been so moody and grumpy lately .... hope he isn't coming down with something or having a bad day .... 

I pray it is the latter.

Anyway, Holly and I have always wanted a daughter, but she went through a difficult pregnancy with Quenton; that he is even here is nothing but a miracle.  Thankfully Quenton emerged healthy and whole, but Holly suffered complications and she nearly died.  It took her months to recover from having our son.  Now she's healthy again, and I can't help but thank God for His goodness upon our lives!  He not only healed my wife; He also gave us a beautiful, intelligent little boy.  And now we are going to have a daughter!!  Our family will at long last be complete!!

Well, I am going to get ready and have Holly get Quenton ready for our "family date" at Cracker Barrel.  Just pray that Quenton takes the news that he is about to become a big brother well!  And pray that there are no roadblocks before Kirimu comes to join our family from Ethiopia!  We would all greatly appreciate it!  Thanks in advance!
