Part One~

We are currently in Mumbai, India, where we are awaiting the chance to finally meet up with the little boy we have been fighting to adopt for the last year.  We are crazy with nervous excitement!

Of course, little Siddarth has grown; he is now four years old.  We started this journey when he was nearly three.  We will probaly be shocked to see how big he has gotten, but we can't wait to finally hold him in our arms and supply his face with kisses and give him hugs!!

When we first saw Siddarth's photo on the "Waiting Child" list on the Internet, we could not say no.  Immediately we got into contact with Love Bundles Adoptions, who specialize in placing children who are classified as "special needs" or "hard-to-adopt" due to age, racial or ethnic background, or disability/health condition.  They were more than happy to take our case.

We have gone through all the customary paperwork, extensive background checks, medical examinations, and "home studies"; we are nearly in the clear.  Once little Siddarth is placed into our arms, all the months of tears, worry, and uncertainty will finally be gone, and we can finally start a whole new life as a brand new family!

Siddarth has spina bifida.  He has had many surgeries already and faces more in the years to come; but according to his "nannies" in charge of his care at the orphanage, Siddarth is a very happy, likable, sociable little boy who loves to entertain others with his humor and wit.  He does not walk yet but doctors are hopeful that he will be able to walk one day with braces and crutches.  Until then, he currently uses a wheelchair to get around.

We don't care.  We love Siddarth just as he is; we see a perfect little boy who needs a loving home and a family to call his own.  And now he will finally have that in just mere moments!!

Pray that Siddarth likes us!  And pray that we like him as well!  A whole new world is about to open up for us and for Siddarth; our lives will never be the same from here on out!
