Fort Worth, TX, Sunday, June 30, 2013, 3:38 p.m., D.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Jesus is alive and well in my life.  He continues to bless me in ways that I can not even begin to describe!

First of all, I am engaged! Yes, y'all read right: I'm engaged!  I still have Marcus Powers in my life, and last month, he asked for my hand in marriage.  Of course, I accepted; I'd be a fool not to!  He walked into my life six months ago, and he and I just sorta ... clicked.  It was love at first sight!

Secondly, my job at the bookstore is going well.  I am loving my new position as assistant manager!  I don't have to worry so much about bills or having a place of my own, nothing like I did when I was homeless!  It's been 2 years since that dark day and I don't want to go back there ever again!  Once was more than enough for me!

Thirdly, after Marcus and I get married (later this year, like in December; we want to have a Christmas wedding), we want to adopt.  We've already been discussing our options; we have decided to adopt a child from here in the United States.  Anybody can adopt a child from another country, but there's so many needy kids right here in our own backyard.  I want to give a child who is in the foster care system or a child who has special needs a chance at having a home and a family; I think Marcus and I would make great parents!!

Our home church here in Fort Worth continues to bless me in ways that I find mind boggling.  For Mother's Day, they promoted me to assistant director of the choir and got me a new car.  It's a sunset orange Hummer H3; it's the prettiest car I have ever seen!  And so much room!!  WOW!!

Today at church, seven people accepted the Lord Jesus Christ after Pastor Hamilton preached and I sang "God Is So Awesome" during the offeratory.  I think I must have done my job in reaching the people with the message of the song!

Today was a very good day, as you can see!  And I have my sweetie, Marcus, in it!  After church, he took me out to eat at Benihaha's; it was very good!  I'm STILL stuffed!  *Burrp!*  LOL  I can hardly move!

I do know this: for the Fourth, we are going to reach out to the homeless in our community and have free hot dogs, burgers, and drinks for them and let them know that we are thinking of them and that we care for 'em.  We want them to know that God hasn't forgotten them.  We are then gonna go to the Fourth of July Parade at 5:00 and then go to the park to watch the fireworks after it gets completely dark.  It is gonna be a full day, but one full of fun, freedom, food, festivities, and fireworks!!

I am really looking forward to it!

Well, I'm gonna take a nap for an hour or so; then I gotta get ready for our evening services at St. John the Baptist Assembly of God Church.  Until later, this is Medusa Jones saying so long; I will write again soon another time.  Take care and may the Good Lord bless you real good, just like He's been blessin' me as of late!!  Glory Hallelujah, God is so good to me!!
