Ooh!!!

Ahh!!!

Look at that one, Mommy!!  It looks like a pinwheel!

I can hear the people talking and oohing and ahhing around me as I watch the fireworks exploding overhead.  My family is with me; they're as mesmerized by the pyrotechnic wizardry as I am.  Why? Because we are celebrating our nation's birthday; it's Independence Day!

The display has only started, but it's already promising to be a display to reemmber for the ages.  According to the festival officials, the display is supposed to last for over a half hour in length; they are going to shoot off millions of dollars worth of fireworks.

This is the event that brings out the big crowds.  Not just the music (we listened to Leona Williams and other country greats), but the fireworks overshadow even country music stars.  They're the REAL stars of the festival!

You can't ask for better weather: lower humidity levels, partly cloudy skies, and a nice breeze blowing in from the north, northwest.  It's no wonder everybody is so happy!

Wow, they just had a green-and-orange firework that burst, then it kept on going and going ... I've never seen anything like that!!  Must be a new kind .... I hope they have more of 'em; that was so cool!!

 Last year for the fourth of July, we had rain; it rained so much it cancelled out our fireworks display.  A lot of people were disappointed and even angry, but I don't see why they had to be so nasty about it ... the weather is going to do what the weather is gonna do; you can't control it ... only God can.  Yet this year it's been far different, and I think a lot of the people who ewre mad last year forgot about it because they sure are enjoying the show!

WOW!! That one looked just like a cat!! Whiskers, ears, and everything!  Cool!!

No, it didn't purr: it went BANG!! LOL It was LOUD!! 

Dang, that one was the biggest flower I had ever seen: looked like a sunflower!!  Black center and yellow petal-looking things extending from the middle.  Had to be a good foot across or more .... I wonder what size shell they used to detonate that puppy .... I would have hated to been the guy setting it off ... it probably would have burst his eardrums .... I do hope, for his sake, he's wearing a good set of earplugs ...

Well, I'd best get back to the show, or I'll miss the finale ... I just hope y'all got to see fireworks as well; and I hope and pray they were as good as this one is promising to be!  If not, I hope you got to see some on tv!
