Jakub Addington has adjusted to his new home on Mars.

Howdy from the Red Planet!  This is Jakub Addington writing!

Life continues to go well for me.  There are still many adjustments on my part, but all in all, I've since adapted to the way of the planet in which I now call home.

I have made many more friends, both Martian and non-alien (human).  I have also learned some basic Martian, so at least I can now figure out SOMEWHAT what my Martian friends are saying or what they are talking about.

I still miss the old way of eating: going to the refrigerator, grabbing a nice, cold Coke or pizza, and sitting down and enjoying it.  I now have to eat powdered foods, just like the astronauts did, and at times, it's disgusting, but I am slowly getting used to it.  It just seems weird eating powdered steak, pizza, or lettuce, or even powdered soda, milk, or water ...

But the extra moons are nice: more light for me at night to sneak in those late night books when my parents are long past asleep.  Or playing on the computer (just as long as they don't catch me at it; my parents like me to get as much rest as possible; after all, I AM a growing boy!).

I don't like the windstorms, though: at times it sounds like it's going to blow our place clean over, and I'm scared the windows are going to bust out when the winds reach well over 100 mph.  Thank God we have extra strength glass in our windows, or else we might end up with a Martian Desert in our very own livingroom!

Then when the power fails, we have to sit in the dark and wait until it can be restored.

Well, I hate to go, but Mom wants me to set the table for supper; so I have to run along.  I will be writing again soon; 'til later, this is Jakub saying so long!  I'm outta here!

~Jakub.
