I thank the god Buddha for getting all of us safely here to Australia.  It is only by his will that we have all survived and arrived safe and sound at our destination.

Miraculously, Quy, my wife, our daughter, Quynh (11), and our two sons, Phuc (3) and Thuc (5) have managed to survive their sicknesses while on the boat, but alas, they aren't well.  Quy coughs up blood and shivers uncontrollably; meanwhile Phuc and Thuc have been left weakened.  The only well ones out of our family are Quynh and myself; we both have to care for our sick family members.

We have found an apartment; it is nearly rent-free, and it is not in the best of condition; but compared to where we were, it is home.  I am most grateful to Buddha for protecting us and keeping us safe from harm.  I pray this continues.

I am trying to find a job, but the health of three of my family members cause me to stay home most of the day.  I am trying to find a doctor to take care of them, but most of the people here do not speak Vietnamese; they speak English.  I speak maybe three to five words of English at best; I don't understand nor can I read English.  English is very difficult for me and for my wife, but Quynh seems to have picked it up; she knows quite a bit.  It just goes to show you how smart our daughter is.

In the morning, I will have to take Quynh with me, so I can get our family to see the doctor; I don't want to lose my wife or my sons!  They need medical help as soon as possible, and I also need to find a job so I can pay for the services of the medical staff and any medical care they might need!
