(In this short story, the main character of “A mother’s Love,” “A Father’s Promise,” “An Unplanned Wedding,” and “Emily’s Birthday Getaway,” previously published in The Suburban Online Magazine, meets the main character of the author’s published fictional diaries “Veronica’s Soap Opera Life,” “Veronica’s Attempt at Romance,” and “Veronica’s Happily Ever After.” )
As a stay at home mom, twenty year old Emily Jacobson sometimes found the days with her baby long since she could not converse with her. She misses being around other adults, and recently starts feeling alone. None of her other friends have any children and none of them can relate to what she is living. She has been longing to share parenting stories with somebody other than her husband or her own parents.
During an afternoon outing at the park, she meets a woman in her early thirties by the name of Veronica, who first defends her from the rants of an old woman. Veronica seemed like somebody that is easy to talk to, and who would not pass any judgements about her being a young mom.
The two women soon become friends despite their age difference.
