Hello! Michael (Mike) Mulligan writing. Hope this finds y'all well and happy.
As for us, we couldn't be doing any better than we are: all the kids are growing up fast and starting new lives of their own, with kids and jobs (or schooling).I'm happy to say that every one of our kids are doing fantastically well! I couldn't be more blessed than I am right now in my life!
Speaking of kids, we are getting ready to add not one, or two, or even three, but FOUR more! Yes, you read correctly: we are adopting again! We are adopting two boys and two girls (ages 3 months to 3 years). Their names are Briana Wu Lan (3) (China), Wyatt Matthias (2; US .. Texas), Colleen Kim Young (10 months; Korea), and Sean-Michael Allen (3 months; Bulgaria). They should be here between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the way things look now, so we'd had better enjoy this "honeymoon-pre toddler-and-infant" phase.
We didn't plan on doing this: it just happened. God has a way of doing things in strange or unusual ways. And speaking of, our neighbors the Sanduskys are adopting as well: they are adopting a little 18 month old girl, Loretta, from Ghana! She'll be here in a few months as well! So there will definitely be some new faces in our neighborhood (and in our families)!
The grandkids are getting big as well: they are all in school now. Jayden (8) is in the third grade. Kinsie (9) is in fourth. Tanner (6) is in first grade, and Hayden just started pre-school (pre-K; he is four and a half).
Jane has enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother; as for me, I'm retiring after this season as football coach of Donelson Senior High School, a job I've held for the past fourteen years. I have enjoyed working with and meeting the kids and their families, and the entire community as well. I am retiring because I would like to spend more time with my family, especially with the four newest additions once they come home to be with us forever.
Well, I hate to run, but it's time to go: we have a game tonight. Hopefully we'll come out on the winning side; we've played five games so far and we've lost each one. It hasn't really been a good season for our team, the Bulldogs. I will write in here again; if not, then Jane will; she has a little more time than I do, now that most of the kids are out of the house.
