I do believe I have the perfect "drama" story...I will just give you a synopsis of it NOW! I was born and raised in rural Madison, MS.  Raised in the cotton fields.  

My grand mother raised meWhen I was 6 my grandmother asked my mother to come an get me.  They say I was too bad.  I say I was inquisitive.   I wanted to learn things faster than most children.  Yes, I am an adventurous.  My mother put all of her "adult"  responsibilities including  cooking and washing for HER husband.When my 4 siblings came along, as I am the oldest of 5, I became their mother at the tender age of 6I was cooking full course meals at 8sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused by both mother and step fatherMy step father would double back from town after he'd taken my mother to town for groceries after a long week in the cotton fieldsHe would bring along two of his friends, Jonathan Johnson, and Peter Socket...They would all sexually assault me.  I was too afraid to tell my mother, because she beat me all the time and for every little thing, even if it wasn't true !.My step father would sexual assault and tell me, if you tell your mom, you know she is going to beat you."One of his friends had testicals as big as "grapefruit."  Imagine a young girl seeing all of this and having to go thru because she was afraid to tell.The abuse got so bad, until I ran away from home repeatedly,  I was so very tired of being a child sex toy. I wanted and needed myself to myself.When I ran away, they put me in "Oakland Training School in Raymond, MS.  We call them in Mssissipi calls a "reform school."  I was so very happy to be there because at least I had myself to myself.I was there for almost a year.My mother had to have one of kidney removed and needed me home.  But the sheriff didn't want to let me out of that school.  All the other girls who were there had committed serious crimes, but I was just a runaway..One day, I was looking out of the window,and I saw a man going to a dorm with what we called "walking Papers."  I said to my roommates, "He is taking those walking to the wrong dorm. Those are my walking papers.  Sure enough they were mines.  I jumped up and "shouted."  One of the "moma" who was there told the other girls, "Joe Ann" is a good little christian... She knew those were her walking papers...After returning home, under the same roof with the same people who abused you in the first place was mind bothersome.  I didn't trust my step father and wanted to be out of that house.There is more to this story...why I was sentence to 6 years in prison.  I have since earned not only a BA in Liberal Arts but also an MA in Art Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College downtown Chicago.  The New York Times did a write up on me in the Educational section in 1998 for one of my original pieces titled "Try to Stop the Air Pollution."  I have also been commended by former  Vice President AL Gore by letter on my concerns for the environment and the song.   .  I have performed for the Second Presidential Awards of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Mentor Conference at the University of Kentucky Membrane Center in Lexington.My daughter was sentenced in Huntsville,AL for credit card fraud... I had to go to huntsville, AL to get them while in my last semester of grad studies.. This was so hard for me.  So I am saying the script should be named/called the Inter-generational Performing Arts team who is making a difference in the lives of Grandmothers who are raising grand children...We must be heard and seen.Now my grand son and I are now an inter-generational performing arts team and have performed across the nation.  The proof is in the pudding here.....if you just go to www.jad-productions.blogspot.com, which is our early on website.
