My name is Marilyn Denise Pigg, but most of the time people (particularly kids) spell my name as "P-I-G".  I hate my last name; I have been teased about it ever since I can remember.  I am fifteen years old and am a sophomore at Del Rio Senior High here in Del Rio, Texas, where I live with my family.

I have long, light brown hair that is super-thick and wavy, and I have grey-green eyes that change color (depending on my mood).  I wear contacts; I used to wear glasses until three years ago, when I begged my parents to let me get contacts because glasses are so lame (at least, on ME, they are).  I am medium in height and in build: I'm neither tall or short, nor am I too fat (or skinny).  Mom and Daddy both say I'm just right the way I am.

I have three brothers: I'm the only girl.  I'm the second to the oldest.  My brothers (i.e., "The Mutants") are ages 6, 9, and 18.

My mom works two jobs: in the day, while we kids are at school, he works as a housekeeper for an elderly woman who is homebound; then in the evening, she is a waitress at El Fenix, which is a terrific Mexican restaurant.  Daddy doesn't work: he is a disabled Veteran; he got injured in the second Iraq conflict, back in 2004, while serving in the United States Air Force (USAF).  So Mom is the chief breadwinner of the family, so she can take care of her husband and the "four little piglets", as she calls us kids.  (Gee, THANKS, Mom. Thanks a LOT!!)

I like to do many things, including read, writing poems or stories, roller blade, play basketball, soccer, or softball, roller skate, bowl, ride my friend's horse whenever I go to her ranchera, watching telenovas on the Spanish channels (I speak both Spanish and English; have to, as there's an awful lot of Mexican or Hispanic people here), sing, and dance.

When I grow up, I want to be a marine biologist or go into journalism.  Mom said I should pursue the latter because she says that I am good at writing.

Well, I hate to go, but homeroom just ended, and it's time for me to go to my first class of the day, which is English (and my favorite!).  I hope you liked reading my story.  I will write in here again; 'til then, this is Marilyn Pigg saying hasta la vista, baby!
