Hello from sunny San Diego, California!

My name is Candace (Candy) Marie Milburn.  I am ten years old and in the fourth grade at Capstone Elementary School.

I live on 422 Surrey Street with my family.  I have two sisters and two brothers.  My brothers are named Sheldon Michael (8) and Jagger Phillip (9); my sisters, meanwhile, are named Harmony Faith (4) and Magdalena (Maggie) Hope (2).  My sisters were adopted from China, so they don't look at all like us, but that's okay: we still love them anyway.  And one (Harmony) was born with albinism, so even though she is Chinese, she has snow-white hair, sky blue eyes, and pale, pale skin.  She also has vision problems (she is legally blind) and has to be super careful when she goes outside in the sun, or else she can get a very bad burn and maybe even get very sick.

Most of my friends call me "Candy" for short (or if they are being cute, "Candy Cane").  I don't mind Candy so much, but as for Candy Cane ... forget it.  My brother, Jagger, is especially bad for doing this, and I get annoyed at him.  I just want to SLUG him a good one!!

My best friend is Torie Shaye Mulligan; she and I have been friends since kindergarten (four years now!).  We love to play at each other's houses after school or on the weekends (if the weather is nice, which it usually is in San Diego).  We tell each other our biggest secrets, and we can talk about absolutely anything!!

I like to do a lot of things including sing, go to church on Sundays (we go to a Pentecostal church), go out to eat after church or on Saturday mornings if we don't have anything planned or chores to do, go to the movies (we just saw "Free Birds" last weekend, and it was hilarious!), dance, draw, write stories or poems, read (I love Junie B. Jones and Ramona Quimby the best!), and spend time time with my family (especially Harmony).

Well, Mrs. Tanner (that's my teacher) says that it is time for SSR (Silent Sustained Reading, where we read to ourselves and then talk about what we read), so I must stop writing now.  I hope you liked learning a bit about me and my life.  I will write in here again; until then, take care and may God bless you always!
