Writing about writing is very difficult, especially for a writer. Moreover, the subject is so vast 20 books would not cover the topics involved. Therefore, I will truncate (just showing off with that last word) and write about the personal aspects and then the rapidly changing interface with a rapidly changing publishing world.
Often I will include the ideas of others as well. In doing so I have one advantage, I have written in many different styles, on many different subjects, and that I think is helpful to me.
I have deliberately, not completed some works, and will go back to them, in time, or if encouraged to do so by readers. Also, this style allows me to work with colleagues and publishers giving them concrete examples of various writing styles. I also work with young people and allow them to choose a given incomplete writing and publish it under their own name, under my tutelage.
First some summaries on what I have already written on writing for those who may be new to my blogs.
