A mother must decide whether to let her child undergo a kidney transplant or to let him die.

Giovanni is very sick; there is no telling what will happen.  There is a chance he could die.  His kidneys have basically quit working and now he is on dialysis; has been now for the past several weeks, and right now, things don't appear to be working.  He's as sick now as he ever was, and there's a chance that he may need a kidney transplant if he is to have a chance at a viable life.  Or else I could just let him die because right now, I am so frustrated and tired of seeing him go through so much.

So much to digest in this short amount of time, but time appears to be running out.  Things are getting scary now.

Just a few days ago, Gio had a crisis and ended up in ICU, where he still remains.  Doctors have him knocked out, so his body can rest and so they can drain the poisons from his system.  He is desperately sick, and I don't know what I am going to do.  I have to let my employer know how things are going, and I may have to take some time off, so I can be with our son, in case something were to happen (and what already hasn't?).

I have to let Diane (my boss) know as soon as Monday or else I could be without a job.  With the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays coming, that would be the last thing I'd need.

Just keep me in your thoughts.  These past few weeks have been nothing but hell for me and especially for Gio!

~End of part one!~

Only God knows what will happen. Sad, sad one, Karen. Well done. A choice no parent should have to make.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
