Christ Community Assembly of God Church, Nashville, TN., December 8, 2013~

Hard to believe it is December and that Christmas is almost upon us.  The year has truly flown by!

Pastor Bruce Bilkey writing.  This won't be long; just had our first service, and I have enough time to put in a quick entry in my journal.  Today is our Christmas Cantata; the first one went without incident; praying the second one does the same.  The choirs, guest vocalists, actors, worship team, and musicians have worked hard for this moment; they have really done a terrific job.  I am extremely proud of all of them.

Being the Christmas season, our church building is laden with greenery, decorations, and lights.  We have a 30' tall Christmas tree in our main lobby; it is the first thing people see upon walking in.  Our volunteers have done a great job in getting everything ready for the season.  

On Saturday of this week is our annual church Christmas party.  The children and teens of our church will be getting some gifts, and we will be giving away bikes, backpacks, gift certificates, and whatnot to deserving families.  We will also be giving gifts to our city's needy and homeless and to our Veterans.  We reach out to the neediest people of our community, to show them the true meaning of Christmas.  We always have a wonderful time.

I pray they (those who come to our church) "get it" and realize what Christmas is truly about.  In fact, that is the topic of my sermon next week.  No sermon today; it's all about the Christmas Cantata.

As for my own family, we are all doing well.  Gabriel Hezekiah, our youngest, is now a year old, and is walking, talking, and is into everything.  He looks exactly like me: he is our family's resident "Mini-Me".  LOL  We have adopted Benjamin Micah; he is a wonderful boy and a perfect addition to our growing family.  We couldn't be happier than we are at this time; God has truly blessed the Bilkey family!

Christmas will have new meaning with the additions of our boys!

Well, I hate to go, but it's nearly time to go to the sanctuary; I always love visiting with the congregation prior to each service.  I will write in here again; until then, take care, and know that JESUS is the Reason for the season; for without Christ, there would not even BE a Christmas!  Merry Christmas from me, Pastor Bruce Bilkey, and the entire Christ Community Assembly of God Family!  May God bless each and every one of you over and beyond what you all can ever imagine!
