Dear Journal~
Ronee' here. Other than feeling like a whole fleet of trucks runnin' over me and coughin' my brains out, I feel absolutely WONDERFUL! LOL Getting over the flu; it really kicked me in the heinie! But I DO feel better if you can believe that ....
I miss my boys. Ever since I got sick with this stuff, Michael has banished me to my room while he plays Daddy Duty with Dean and Dillon. Well, he doesn't want me giving this crud to them; I don't blame him: they're still so little: only four months old (they WILL be four months in a few days, on the 16th). The flu is hardest on the elderly or the very young, especially the swine flu, which is what I had.
I still don't understand something: I got my flu shot, and yet I still get the flu. And I wasn't around any pigs, so how in the world did I end up with the SWINE FLU?? It just doesn't make any sense! *OINK! OINK* (A little porcine humor here ... VERY little ... )
Meanwhile, I have been stuck in bed. I am getting tired of being in bed. I want to get up and DO things. But nooo ... Michael is insisting I stay put. So just to humor him, I am. (I don't think I will be going to temple tonight for the Sabbath or to my church tomorrow. It's a lazy, do-nothing-but-get-over-the-flu type of weekend for ME. *Sigh!*
At least I'm not flaring ... (HUSH, Ronee'! Bite yo' tongue, girl!) Could be worse ... :) Grateful it ISN'T.
The other night, I was in bed, and Michael called me to look out. The northern lights were out. I got so excited; I had him bring me my phone and I took pics, which I later uploaded on my FB page. And the local news used one of my pictures that I'd snapped; I e-mailed it to them, and they were kind enough to use my pic, but they said my name wrong!! AGAIN!! People NEVER get my name right. It's RONEE', NOT Renee'!! Happens every time!! Only Ronee' I know (besides myself that is) is the actress Ronee Blakely. Well, I don't personally KNOW her, but she and I DO share the same name! :)
I just hope that when we go to Alaska on our cruise later on this year I see the northern lights up there!! And I am sure that when we DO move to Alaska, we'll see the northern lights on a regular basis. :) (We are planning on moving there shortly after our cruise, later this year, like in October.)
Yesterday my boss called to see how I was feeling. He didn't sound so good. He has the flu too. (And no, I wasn't the one who gave it to him!) I told HIM to get to feeling better and he told me the same. I hope to be back to work on Monday, or at least Tuesday; I miss my boss and my co-workers! I have a very good boss and he understands me when I don't feel well; he never has a problem of letting me take the day off when I am sick or have appointments or whatnot. And he has told me (more than once) that my job is safe, so that is one thing I don't have to worry about.
I had to take my car to the shop about two weeks ago, right after Christmas: the starter/alternator went out. So there went a good chunk of my one check; at least I was able to get it fixed. Now my VW Bug runs like a top again. :) I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my car (or Michael's H-3, which I also can drive if needed!). I can't walk everywhere; I am physically unable to do it. I'm just grateful I can walk at ALL (even with help), but I am NOT gonna go tooling around town in my wheelchair! That would be just past nuts!!
Well, I am going to go back to sleep. Not going anywhere; can't. Sooo ... on that note, I'm outta here. Good night; I'm gonna sleep (that's all I have been doing, that or playing on FB!!)! See y'all later!
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Typhoid Ronee'. :D
