My husband, Clark, has been faithful to me wnenever I needed him; now it is my turn.
Clark has testicular cancer. He was diagnosed with it last week. He has to undergo a regimen of chemotherapy, to see how it will attack the cancerous cells. If that doesn't work, he may need surgical intervention. Right now, though, it is too early to tell. It isn't going to be easy by a long shot, but I plan on staying right by Clark's side when he has to undergo his treatments.
Understandably, I am very concerned, not to mention, worried. I don't know what the future will hold, especially if the doctors tell me that the cancer may be Stage 2 or even 3 (or, God forbid, Stage 4). Yet I will do all I can to help increase his chances of survival, and I will do all I can to help ease the fears the children will have when I break the news to them. Right now I haven't told them, but I am planning to tomorrow.
They know something is up with their daddy; they just don't know WHAT yet. I know they will be upset. I will be upset too, when I break the news, but I can't hide this from them. They have to know what is going on.
I have promised my husband that I will be right there, next to him as he faces this ordeal. I know he will be scared; who wouldn't be when the dreaded "C-word" is mentioned? But as I said earlier, he has been there for me when I had pneumonia twice last year and broke my leg in a bad fall two years ago; now it is MY turn to be there for Clark. It is only right that I am.
I will update as things develop; stay tuned ... in the meantime, please keep praying for us; we would greatly appreciate any and all of them! Thanks in advance!
