Dear All~
Ohaiyo! Genki deska? Genki des, arigato!
Michiko Nagasaki here. While our son, Hiroshi Kazuhiko, who is nearly one year old, naps, I figured I'd write in my journal while I have the opportunity. Kazuhiko (my husband) is keeping an eye on him while I do this, so I can have a little bit of free time. When Hiroshi is awake, he keeps me on my toes!
I truly do appreciate the help Kaz has been to me. But sometimes he treats me like glass; it's because I'm blind and he tends to be overprotective. So does my family; it truly does drive me crazy! I may be blind, but I am not stupid! And I certainly am not capable! I can clean, sew, write and read (with special aids), and work towards my degree in journalism (I graduate in a few months; hard to believe that my schooling is nearly through!).
Life has been good for me. I can't complain other than the fact that I wasn't able to watch the Winter Olympics from Sochi, Russia. Oh, I heard plenty of the action, but I would have loved to have seen the pageantry and the competitions, especially in ice skating, bob sledding, and downhill skiing! Hard to believe that they are over; seems like only yesterday when they began! (They ended yesterday.)
The next Winter Olympics will be held in Korea in 2018. We have two years before the Summer Games (which will be held in South America, I believe), but I have always preferred the Winter Games over the Summer ones.
Hiroshi will be turning one year old in April. He is already walking and talking; he seems to be a very active, inquisitive little boy. He is very clever and smart; both Kaz and I are extremely proud of him. We cannot imagine our lives without him. We may try to have a second child in a year or two, but for now, Hiroshi is enough. He has the energy level of three babies! LOL
We do have storms here, but nothing like back in the United States. I don't miss the tornadoes or thunderstorms one bit. We have had a few here (which have freaked me out; all it does is bring back bad memories of when I lost my sight and got hurt in the process), but nothing, nothing to the magnitude of what they have in the United States of America. We have had a cold, hard winter; I am more than ready to smell the flowers and hear the trees, flowers, and grass growing! There's just something about spring that just rejuvinates my soul, especially here in Japan!
Well, I hate to go, but Kaz is calling me. And I hear Hiroshi crying; he must want me, his mamma. I will write in here again soon; sorry it's been a while since I last did! Hope you forgive me for that! Take care and may God bless you always! Until later, this is Michiko Nagasaki saying sayonara!
~Love, your friend from Japan, Michiko. :)
