Meegin Quigley of Sydney, Australia, updates her story.

Sydney, Australia, Sunday, 2 March, 2014~

G'day, mates!  How's it goin'?  I'm doing alright, all things considering ... all is good.

We have had a spate of severe weather (high winds, terrific rains leading to flash flooding, incredible flangs ... what you all Yanks call lightning ..., the whole nine yards; we even had twisters, which were rather thrilling to witness), but all is calming down at the present time; fall will be here in less than two weeks.

Can't wait; am more than ready for cooler temps; we've had a horrid summer: brutally hot and dry; we even had threats of fires in parts of the city; you could see and smell smoke in the air; it was rather frighening, that ... so glad the long, hot bloody summer is about past!

Pop has joined Mum in Heaven; that's another reason why I haven't written.  Charles (me brother) and myself had to handle the affairs and plan the funeral; it's been a rough time for us, but we are slowly comin' 'round.  We both miss our parents terribly.

I kicked Alissa, me former roomie out: she had her partner come and they kept having sex at all hours; and they were not quiet about it either.  I won't go into the sordid details, but let's just say I lost sleep on account of their activity, plus Alissa and Reagan (her partner) would drink and get rip roarin' drunk.  It was bad!  So now it's just me and Monster, as well as Squawky (me cat and me bird).  Charles comes over several times a week to check up on me; it's nice he worries about me, his little sister.  :)

Don't know if I'm gonna have another roomie: I rather like living by myself.  I'm me own boss; I can do what I want, when I want, and I can go and come back as I please.  When Alissa was here, I had to follow her rules; it's like she thought she owned the joint, and she wasn't even payin' the rent; I did all of that!  That was another reason why I had to dish out some "tough love", Meegin Quigley style, and put me foot down.

Well, I hate to run, but the phone is ringing and it's not even 7 in the morning!  BLAST!!  I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Meegin Quigley saying so long!  Take care!!

~Meegin.  :)
