This is a school assignment I have to do for my Creative Writing class. I have to write a report about my family and what life is like for me.
I have a mother and a father, and I have brothers and sisters. I have many brothers, and I have many sisters. There are a lot of kids in my family; there are 50 of us altogether, and there are also 2 foster kids, making for a total of 52 kids. (Of my brothers and sisters, 4..Melizza, Lightning, Dwerlina, and Diana..live away from home. Lightning and her family live in Colorado, and Melizza and Diana share an apartment not far from where we live. As for Dwerlina, she is attending classes at Louisiana-Lafayette, where she is majoring in Cajun History and French. She wants to teach Cajun French to kids.)
All of us are adopted, even me. I was adopted when I was really little, just a baby. I was only a couple of months old then. Mommy and daddy adopted kids who are handicapped, older, or of different races; this is why you will see kids who are Black, white, red, tan, or yellow in my family. But despite our differences, we still are a family, and we still love one another.
You will notice that a lot of the kids are handicapped. I am handicapped, too, which is why I use crutches and leg braces to walk (or, at times, a wheelchair). I am this way because I have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which I have had since I was 4 1/2 years old. But despite how we may look or act, mommy and daddy still love us, and they treat us normally, which is how I like it. It's bad enough to be stared at or made fun of by strangers; I would rather be treated like a normal kid than like dirt or like I was yesterday's garbage, just because I happen to be handicapped. This is why I get mad at people when they tease me. This is all I ever ask from people: to be treated as they would want to be treated..with RESPECT and DIGNITY.
My family is Christian. That is, we believe in God and in Jesus Christ; and because of it, we all go to church every week. We go to church every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We go to Christ Community Assembly of God, and our pastor is Mr. Bruce Bilkey. Daddy has always gone to this church ever since he came to Tennessee, but we, as a family, have gone there for almost 2 years now. (It will be 2 years in July of next year.)
We get along for the most part, but, like all brothers and sisters, we DO fight on occasion. But mommy and daddy put a stop to it, and they spank us or put us into time out if we act up. I hate getting time out or getting spanked, but it sure teaches me right from wrong, and I think I am a better person because of it! Or, if we are REALLY bad, we are grounded; and that is the worst!!
We live in a very big house. We HAVE to, for our family is HUGE; we need the room! Our house is the biggest on the block, so it is very easy to find. We live at 395 Twin Rivers Lane here in Nashville, Tennessee, and it's been my house for as long as I can remember! Our house is really nice, and I love the roominess of it! I also love my room; I share my room with my two big sisters, Barbara and Gemini. I have my own bed, but Barbara and Gemini share a bunk bed.
In our family, our faith in God is very important; and so is making music. A lot of us kids play different instruments or sing, and mommy and daddy sing and play instruments, too. Sometimes we perform at local music festivals during the summer or on weekends, but during the winter we just act like a normal family. We don't perform much in the winter unless it is at a Christmas function or appearing at our church's annual Christmas program, stuff like that. But I perform regularly; I am trying to become a country star. A country star is what I want to be; but I don't want to be like Shania Twain; I want to be more like Loretta Lynn. Loretta Lynn is more my style!
Well, that is my report. I hope you like what I have written.

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
