Ronee', my sister, wrote about what Christmas means to her earlier; now it is my turn.
(Ronee' likes to try to do things earlier than me, and it really bugs me; I'D love to be first for once!)
Christmas means more than just getting presents on Christmas morning. Christmas means more than going shopping for decorations or waiting for Santa Claus to come down the chimney on Christmas Eve (and hoping that I can sleep that night!).
Christmas, to me, means the Birth of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, as He was born to save people from sin. (He did that later in His life; He died on a wooden cross and took our sins with Him as He died. He did that because He loved us THAT much!) That is probably why Christmas is so important; this is why you hear people singing songs like "Silent Night" and "Joy To The World" because they are happy about Jesus being born. I know I am! :)
Christmas also means spending time with family and friends. At Christmas, we always have family come home if they don't live with us anymore (like Lightning, Dwerlina, Melizza, and Diana, they all live away from home; and Lightning and Dwerlina both live out of Tennessee), and we always put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving. We also put out our Christmas lights and other decorations. (Mommy loves Christmas; she goes out of her way to make sure we have the best one yet, and she loves telling us kids about Santa Claus!)
Christmas means cold weather and snow. Now, it CAN get warm or rain here in Tennessee, but we have had a lot of snowy Christmases. I love snow; I love going sledding or skiing on my sit-ski and feeling the cold wind go by my face! That is so COOL!
I also love throwing snowballs at Ronee'! :)
Christmas also means birthdays. See, my birthday is RIGHT AROUND Christmas (try the day AFTER CHRISTMAS! THAT is when my birthday is!), and Ronee' 's birthday is RIGHT ON Christmas Day! So she shares the same birthday with JESUS, the lucky duck!! But she doesn't get as many gifts as the rest of us, so maybe not having my birthday ON Christmas Day IS a good thing! :)
Christmas means a lot of things to me, as you can see. But theses were the things I could think of the fastest. I am sure there is more to write about Christmas; but right now I think my brain just went to sleep! (I had a hard day at school today! Had a KILLER test, and my brain is STILL hurting!!)
