in soft murmurings
in sudden understandings
uttered from the passenger side
coaxing me
  coaxing from me
that which I sought to keep
sequestered away
not freely given
yet shockingly
you did it so effortlessly
even unknowingly;
I, was conflicted,
between receiving and the resisting
simultaneously
opening
yet remaining hidden
for the instant then
surrendered

buffeted
and buffeting;
body waves
trough and crestings
giving
even as I trembled
long, long, longings

taking in
giving
receiving
grasping
what had long been denied me
triumpant
shockingly trembling
  now knowing
that humbling
joy
that
frightening
light
from my opened door
enveloped
by your
walking through
because I had
reached
out that same door
to taste you
and wrenchingly
too
and
 
was overwhelmed.

when other

mutually
receive
