Hello! Sorry for not writing in so long (two YEARS??); life has a way of getting in the way. I hope you forgive me; I don't know where my head is half the time ....
Windy Storm Thundercloud here. I am sitting here, trying not to think about Kirk James, my son, but I can' t help it ... I miss him so much!! I lost him three years ago to a drunk driver; I saw it happen with my own eyes; I still have ongoing nightmares as a direct result and have been going to counseling to help me deal with the bad memories. They are starting to become fewer, but they'll never go completely away. Kirk would have been ten years old this year. He was almost seven when he died.
I'm just glad I have Adam here to help take some of the pain away. Yes, I am still seeing Adam Long Bow, and get this: he and I are officially engaged! Yes, we are going to get married later this year! I will become Wyndi Storm Long Bow. Excited? Yes. Nervous? More than you can imagine. But overall, I am happy; this is the happiest I have been in months.
I am still working at the hospital, where I counsel other amputees. I, myself, am an amputee (lower legs); I lost them when a train ran over my legs back in 2003; it's been 11 years already. I can't believe it; it seems like only yesterday at times when it happened, especially when my stumps go on a tear and remind me that they're not amused. My stupid brain likes to think my legs are still attached, but when I look down, or go to scratch my toe or knee, or whatever, there's nothing below my thighs. It's truly maddening, not to mention, highly annoying!!!!
The weather here in Oklahoma is showery, and kind of cool, with temps in the upper 70's, really nice weather for this time of year. I am not complaining one bit .... I love this weather! Hard to believe that it's been nearly one year since the tornadoes struck Shawnee and El Reno; that was a horrible day; I (and other Oklahomans) will never forget it as long as we shall live. Then you got the memories of the tornadoes that hit Moore and Oklahoma City back on May 3, 1999; that was a bad day, too.
I don't do storms very well, even though my last name IS Thundercloud! LOL My last name should be CHICKEN CLOUD. LOLOLOLOL

Other than the memories of Kirk, and dealing with phantom pain, my life is good. The Great Spirit has been watching out over me and keeping me safe from harm. I am praying with all my soul that this continues. This has been the longest stretch of good that I've had in a while, and I'd like it to last. Adam just makes life that much better, and I thank the Great Spirit that I have him; he's my everything. And my son is too, even though he is no longer here; but he lives on in my heart and spirit. He was such a sweet, smart, gentle boy.
Well, I hate to go, but Adam is going to take me out to eat; we're going to our local Golden Corral. I haven't had a good homecooked meal out in a while; I am sure it's going to be good! I will try to write sooner than I did this time; please forgive me? Until later, this is Windy saying may the Great Spirit bless you; talk to you laster!
