Elena stepped off the plane near her new home and gaped.

Nearly Christmas and no snow in sight. She had just arrived from Montana where snow was everywhere and it was twenty below! Here the sun shown brightly on grass! Sand! And pavement, and it was a balmy 72 degrees.

 Her parents were off on a long overdue vacation to Rome. Her father had driven her things here with one of the men who drove their semis. He had told her that they had made it livable and she could then do as she wished with her new home. It had been weird! In mid October they had received a letter saying her dads sister had died and left her the home here in Florida. All she had to do was be moved in by early January and be set in the community. It had taken time to close her law practice and pack so here it was nearly Christmas and she was alone in a strange new astate and it could not be more night and day than this!

   Harvey Wilde had helped her dad store her aunts things in an oversized building between aa garage no a barn. He had dropped her dad at the airport to fly home and had gone to a town with the strange name of Frostproof.

a shuttle took her to the car park where her dad had asked to have a new vehicle delivered there yesterday. It was a pickup with a hydraulic cargo cover. Since it was a metallic blue green, sometimes called teal, she loved it. Soon she was heading west to her new home town of Okeechobee. Lord! Sounded like something out of an old Mayberry movie.
