Reading Speculative Fiction

  For the sake of argument I will say I am a writer of speculative fiction that includes science fiction, horror, fantasy and many sub genres. The reason I say for the sake of argument is I consider myself more of a storyteller than a true writer.

  My reason for writing this short piece is to educate one person in particular on the reading of fantasy. Of course most , if not all, fantasy stories are based on the unreal. Things that probably will not or can not happen.

  Of course mushrooms have no eyes or create mayhem on the streets as in my story Those Spores. At this time in our history we do not have the type of servant robots as in my story Crank.

  If one can not put aside disbelief in an attempt to enjoy the story that is fine, just stick to what you enjoy and can understand. Leaving messages just this side of nasty to the writer over a story you are unable to understand tells more about you than your intended target.
