sufficing

school girl dreaming.
So she opened her skirts
circumvented her own mind
laid down that wedding night
placed dreams aside
knowing maybe, maybe
if not her
her kids
her kids would
learn to fly.

He knew
he 
was only offering
broken roses
too proud
to tell her
wasn't he that broke them
grateful she would take them
stuck in vases
token
two dreams
together
pretending
there's water
in the desert.
But yet
aren't these
the stuff
dreams
are
made
of 
and human kind's
bedtime
stories?
